I first made a Blogger in the 9th grade . We had to make one for an assignment where we all made blogs and had to put our homework and stuff on them...I think that's how it went! :D Then after that class I decided to make a personal one...which didn't turn out so well because I NEVER updated it. (You think I'm bad at this one....)
Again in 11th grade we had to make a blog for class...and then one day my cousin got a personal blog...and I got a little jealous. So again I made this personal blog and I do my best to update it! :D
There you have it...why I'm on Blogger.

Death Leaves a Heartache No One Can Heal
I have recently been reminded of all the things in my life that have gone...well, that have just gone completely wrong in my eyes. Now I'm really not writing these things for your "pity" or to feel sorry for myself...I just need to let these things out and what better way than to pour it out here. Didn't someone once say "better out than in..." maybe they weren't particularly talking about "feelings" but still. ;D
When I was 14 years old, I woke up on Saturday, September 15, 2007 and walked into my dad's bedroom to find what looked like any other Saturday morning where my father was sleeping in just a little later than usual. Not too long after that I realized that he wasn't sleeping...but that he had been taken from this earth peacefully in his sleep. That day was the most horrific day I have ever experienced in my entire life. Time lost its meaning. My whole world fell apart, right before my eyes. Everything I thought was invincible and unbreakable was suddenly gone.
Lately I've just really been missing my dad. There are lots of things going on in my life right now and I just wish that he were here to hold me and tell me that everything is going to be ok. That all this trudging through trials will someday be worth it. He was my rock. My best friend. He always knew how to put a smile on my face and he always knew when something was up with me.
For whatever reason, he's not here...and even though I know he's where he's supposed to be, doing the things that Heavenly Father needs him to be doing, I can't help but think...I wasn't ready, I'm NOT ready to say goodbye. It's not fair. I'm struggling so much right now with so many different things, and all I need to make 99% of them better is to just see his face. To have him tell me that it's not all for nothing. I need him to give me that wonderful advice that he ALWAYS had tucked under his sleeve.
I wish he were here. Not just for those reasons, but also because if he were here...my mom wouldn't be hurting right now. She wouldn't be getting her tender heart broken over and over again trying to find someone that will not even be half as incredible as my dad was. All the things that she has been through since he's been gone...it kills me to know that as much as I want to...there really isn't anything that I can do to make it better.
Right now...if he were here, we'd probably be up late watching some stupid movie like "The Great Outdoors" and laughing our heads off at the part when the ugly bear gets the hair blown off his behind. I can still hear that laugh. I haven't watched that movie since the night before he left me.
I do believe that I will see him again. I KNOW that I will. It's just that there are so many things that I need him here for in THIS life. He wasn't there when I graduated from High School. He's not going to be there when I get married or have my children. What am I going to do when my kids ask me about their Grandpa? There is NO WAY on this earth that I will be able to even give them a GLIMPSE of how amazing he was. That kills me.
It's also really hard for me to know that he can see me right now and I can't see him. It's just not fair. He's only been up in Heaven for about 2 minutes...and here, we're going on 4 years. He hasn't really had much time to think about me, let alone miss me...and even when he does, he still gets to see me and listen to me…while I'm down here dying to just truly feel him.
I guess what I really want to say is...don't ever take your relationships for granted. You NEVER know when someone could slip away from you. Cherish every moment you have with someone and always tell the people you love how you feel. But only when you truly mean it.
I’m sorry to all my friends and family. A lot of the times I find it hard to be myself. I love each and every one of you and I hope you know that. Don’t give up on me. I’ll get better one of these days.
XOXOXO I love you all.

Day 10: What do you listen to when your happy, sad, hyped, and mad.
When I'm happy I listen to...
Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Glee, Musicals, Michael Buble, Ingrid Michaelson, Katy Perry...I don't really know if I can name them all. I listen to A LOT of music.
When I'm sad I listen to...
Get It Right from Glee. I also listen to "I Miss You" by Miley Cyrus when I miss my dad. I mainly listen to slow songs, which I know isn't good...because it keeps me in a sad mood...but whatever. :D
When I'm hyped I listen to...
Really up-beat songs like Metro Station, Panic! At The Disco, Ke$ha...etc.
When I'm mad I listen to...
Um...I listen to "Mean" by Taylor Swift...haha I know pathetic, but hey, why not? I listen to songs that get my mind off of things. I just get lost in the music and then forget about why I was mad...well, that's what I try to do anyways!!

Yes...I know I'm lame...
I am alive! The trip was FANTASTIC! I am sorry about the lack of posts (I know I'm totally lame)...I thought for sure my hotel would have FREE Internet connection...but apparently their still kickin it in the STONE AGE!! Anyways, it's definitely been crazy since I've been home, trying to slip back into my old routine and all. Which by the way, isn't welcoming me with open arms... I will get back on track on the challenge as soon as I have some time on my hands, and I will also get those pictures up A.S.A.P. (Which, by the way, means 'AS SOON AS POSSIBLE' ...NOT 'AS SPEEDILY AS POSSIBLE' which I feel is a common misperception. Sorry, it just really bugs me when someone says A.S.A.P. and everyone drops EVERYTHING). :D

Just a Little Giddy
I am so excited to go to Disneyland. You. Have. No. Idea. You might be thinking, "calm down...It's Disneyland, it's fun, but not THAT big of a deal." Don't worry, I know that some of you are. Well, the thing is, my family and I don't really get around much. :D So, this IS a BIG deal for me. The last time I was at Disneyland with my family...was 10 years ago... Now yes, I did go last year with my Choir, don't get me wrong that was FANTASTIC, but like I said, we don't really go on Vacations (ehem...sorry about that, let me correct myself...BIG vacations) very often.
As the time nears, I am getting super super stoked. I have butterflies right now just thinking about it. It is going to be great! I cannot wait to go and have fun with my two FAVORITE girls on the planet!! :D LET THE FUN BEGIN...I have to pack first...kinda not looking forward to that part.
Day 9: Something I'm proud of in the past few days...
Well, yesterday I went to the mall and bought a REALLY cute pink purse and matching wallet...does that count? I'm very proud that I own it...ha, and that I was able to buy it with my own money! :D Um, let's see...a couple of days ago I totally winged a test and got an "A". That definitely put a smile on my face. I am also very proud of myself for sticking with this blogging challenge...this is really a BIG step for me...just sayin! :D

Day 8: Short term goals for this month and why.
This month...
I am going to get better at cleaning my room. :D I am really getting tired of messiness.
I am going to start exercising everyday. I need to get in shape.
I am going to drink lots more water. I don't even get anywhere near 8 glasses a day.
I am also going to try to be a better, happier person. I really need that in my life.

Day 7: A picture of someone/something that has had the greatest impact on you.
My dad has had the biggest impact on my life. He was the greatest person on earth. He would give you the shirt off his back, the shoes off his feet...one time he even gave away his CAR to this newlywed couple that had broke down on the side of the road. He was the kindest person that I have ever known. He only ever lived for other people. He had a great sense of humor as well.
To my dad, no one was a stranger. If you were ever in the presence of him, you were treated like a great friend. He talked to EVERYONE...sometimes this wasn't always a great thing to a little girl that just wanted to get the HECK out of the Checker Auto store. :D
He knew everything as well. He taught me so much about all kinds of stuff, from fixing things to genuine life lessons. He was always my go-to man. I learned so much about the gospel from him too. I love my daddy with all my heart. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him in some way. I will never stop loving or missing him.
I only wish that the people that never got the extraordinary blessing of having him in their life, could know what an amazing person he really truly was. I am extremely grateful for all of the many many memories I have of him. I cannot even express the love I have for this man. I know that I will see him again, and that he is up there rooting for me to succeed in my life in every possible way.
I know that I can never tell you in words just how amazing he was, but I hope that this post give you some idea. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH DADDY!!!

Day 6: Favorite Superhero and Why.
My favorite superhero is and has always been Batman. I absolutely love him. I know that SOME people don't "qualify" him as a super hero because he technically does not have "super" powers. But to me, he TOTALLY is. I mean...he's Batman...who doesn't love him?
From the cartoon character
to Michael Keaton
to Christian Bale (my preferred Batman... :D)
Anyways...you can argue all you want on how Batman is not a superhero...but to me, he is...and no one will change my mind!!! :D

Day 5: A picture of somewhere you've been...
Well, I don't have very many pictures on my computer. And most of our vacation pictures are on prints, so there isn't much luck of me getting any off our other computer...but I did find this picture of me and my friends at Disneyland last year. I know it's not a very good one, but I will redem myself when I get back this time!!!! :D :D

Day 4: A habit you wish you did not have
I have a ton of habits that I wish I didn't have. Let's see...I'll just name one of those annoying habits. I have the WORST habit of throwing my clothes on my bedroom floor when I'm done with them. I have a hamper right in my room...not to mention the laundry room is the NEXT DOOR down the hall...yeah, I know it's bad. I constantly start over every time I clean my room telling myself that this is it, I have had it and I am going to keep my room CLEAN this time. Well, my dirty clothes give me a nasty stare down every weekend when I go clean my room as a result of my goal failing...AGAIN. And yes, I'm still working on my goal for the new week seeing that I did not have time to clean my room this weekend. I know what you're thinking...G*R*O*S*S...I'll let you know how it goes once I conquer this awful habit. :D

Day 3: A picture of you and your friends
Ok...I know this is a really lame picture, but it's the most recent picture I have of me with some friends (in this case, one...Miss Jenny Curtis and my sister, Lacey Morton) :D
Haha, this was the first day I got my Laptop. :D Good times...

Day 2: The meaning behind my blog name.
According to Me
Well...I have not really thought about the meaning of the name...but this is my blog, so everything is 'According to Me'. I guess it means that I have my own opinions and this is the place that I can go to state those. If people don't agree, it's fine with me, because this site is just 'According to Me'....oh my gosh, I did not mean to rhyme there! hahahahahaha Anyways...this is a really cheesy post, but there you have it...the meaning behind my blog name!! :DFriday, April 1, 2011
Day 1: A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself.
(This picture was taken by my lovely little sister, Lacey. You can check out her photography blog here.)
1. I am a GREAT Aunt. And no, not like I'm 'awesome'...I'm literally a great aunt. haha I have 17 nieces and nephews and I have 8 great nieces and nephews with 1 great nephew on the way!!
2. I LOVE music. Without it I would be nothing. It gets me through everyday.
3. I am a reader. I absolutely love it. I hated to read up until 8th grade, and then I read Twilight, and that changed everything. (BTW: I used to be UBER obsessed with Twilight...but don't worry, I'm over it. Still like it, but so not obsessed.)
4. I try to be a clean freak...but I can sometimes be a slob...just take a look at my room right now. Actually don't cause that'd be weird. :D
5. I love singing. Just ask my family. You can normally always catch me singin a tune!
6. I made my first patch quilt this last fall and absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. I have loved sewing ever since I was a little girl. I once spend a whole week in the summer down on my grandpa and grandma's farm, sewing with my grandma. In the house, of course...not the farm! lol
7. I work at a call center in Pleasant Grove...it's not the FUNNEST job ever, but I love the people that I work with. They make the time fly!
8. I love my daddy with all my heart. I miss and think about him DAILY. The only thing that keeps me going is that I know I will see him again someday and that he is constantly looking after me.
9. I love being with my family more than anything. Family is definitely a big one for me. Whether it's my immediate family or my extended family, I enjoy it all the same!!
10. I cannot wait for the day that I can walk out of my High School for good. I am going to UVU in the fall. I'm still a little undecided on what my career is going to be FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE...but I'm workin on it!
11. I have a little, black Toy Poodle named Bostyn. I love her so much. She is such a happy addition to our family and constantly keeps us laughing.
12. I am totally in LOVE with Disneyland and CANNOT wait to go again for Spring Break with my mom and little sister. It's going to be a BLAST...you can be jealous...it's OK. ;D
13. I love Aerobics and I really need to do it more!
14. I really enjoy watching plays. I have only seen two Broadway shows and neither of them were in New York (someday hopefully...). I've seen 'The Lion King' in Vegas (Which by the way was INCREDIBLE) and I've seen 'Wicked' in Salt Lake (Also WONDERFUL...highly recommend it). So along with this obsession of plays...musicals preferably...comes the obsession with the Broadway soundtracks...come on, you really can't have one without the other. And I'll admit...I'm not really that hardcore as I'm making myself sound. I only have two Broadway soundtracks on my iPod ('Wicked' and 'The Phantom of the Opera') but I do really really enjoy them.
15. I'm not perfect...but I constantly try to work on my imperfections. I'm also not the best at that either, but hey...aren't we all just humans?
